Day 1

Arrival at NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport – Phuentsholing

  • Welcome to the gateway of the Kingdom of Bhutan.
  • Upon arrival at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport (IXB), meet your representative and begin a scenic drive to Phuentsholing, the bustling border town connecting India and Bhutan.
  • Nestled at the foothills of the Himalayas, Phuentsholing offers a unique blend of Indian and Bhutanese culture.
  • Complete the check-in formalities and spend the rest of the evening at leisure, exploring the local markets or relaxing at your hotel.

Day 2

Phuentsholing – Thimphu

  • After breakfast, complete the Bhutan immigration formalities before beginning your picturesque drive to Thimphu, the charming capital of Bhutan.
  • The journey winds through lush valleys, mountain forests, waterfalls, and traditional Bhutanese villages.
  • Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. In the evening, visit the magnificent Tashichho Dzong, an impressive fortress-monastery that houses the King's office and several government ministries.
  • Admire its traditional Bhutanese architecture before returning to your hotel.

Day 3

Thimphu Sightseeing – Punakha

  • After breakfast, embark on a comprehensive sightseeing tour of Bhutan's capital.
  • Visit the towering Buddha Dordenma Statue at Kuensel Phodrang, offering spectacular panoramic views of the valley.
  • Continue to the National Memorial Chorten, one of Bhutan's most revered religious monuments, followed by the Folk Heritage Museum, showcasing traditional Bhutanese life.
  • Later, visit Sangaygang View Point, Changangkha Monastery, and the Takin Preserve Centre, home to Bhutan's unique national animal, the Takin.
  • Drive towards Punakha, crossing the breathtaking Dochula Pass (3,150 m), famous for its 108 memorial chortens and magnificent Himalayan vistas on clear days.
  • Arrive in Punakha and check in to your hotel.

Day 4

Punakha – Paro

  • After breakfast, visit the spectacular Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan's most beautiful fortresses, strategically located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.
  • Once the seat of the Bhutanese government, it remains the winter residence of the Chief Abbot.
  • Continue with a short excursion to the famous Chimi Lhakhang, popularly known as the Temple of Fertility, built by the legendary Lama Drukpa Kunley, also known as the "Divine Madman." The temple is revered by couples seeking blessings for children.
  • Later, drive through the scenic Himalayan landscape to Paro. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Day 5

Tiger's Nest Monastery Excursion

  • After breakfast, prepare for one of Bhutan's most unforgettable experiences—a hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest).
  • Perched dramatically on a cliff nearly 900 metres above the Paro Valley, this sacred monastery is among Bhutan's most treasured landmarks.
  • The moderate hike rewards visitors with breathtaking mountain scenery and spectacular monastery views.
  • After descending, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most sacred temples, dating back to the 7th century.
  • If time permits, also visit the historic Drukgyel Dzong, once built to commemorate Bhutan's victory over Tibetan invaders.
  • Return to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 6

Paro Sightseeing – Phuentsholing

  • Visit the historic Ta Dzong, originally a watchtower and now the National Museum of Bhutan, displaying an impressive collection of Bhutanese art, textiles, weapons, and cultural artifacts.
  • Continue to Rinpung Dzong, one of Bhutan's finest examples of traditional architecture.
  • Later, stop at the Paro Airport View Point, where you can witness aircraft navigating one of the world's most challenging airports, surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks.
  • Enjoy some free time at the local market to shop for Bhutanese handicrafts, textiles, prayer flags, and souvenirs before driving back to Phuentsholing. Check into your hotel.

Day 7

Phuentsholing – NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport
