Important Information & Tour Guidelines

1. Driving & Distance Guidelines

  • Hilly Terrain: Travel times in hill stations like Munnar and Thekkady depend heavily on traffic, weather, and winding roads. Driving speeds are generally slower for safety.
  • Vehicle Usage: The private vehicle provided is strictly for the itinerary routes mentioned. Any additional sightseeing or personal detours will incur extra charges.

2. Activity & Sightseeing Details

  • Eravikulam National Park: The park remains closed annually during the Nilgiri Tahr breeding season (usually February to March). In case of closure, alternate sightseeing will be arranged.
  • Periyar Boat Safari: Tickets for the Periyar Lake boating safari are subject to availability and must be booked online well in advance or on the spot by the guest.
  • Houseboat / Backwater Cruise: Houseboats in Alleppey typically cruise from 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM. For environmental and safety reasons, boats remain anchored at night (5:30 PM to 8:00 AM).

3. What to Pack

  • Clothing: Light cotton clothes are ideal for Cochin and Alleppey. Light woollens or jackets are recommended for cool evenings in Munnar and Thekkady.
  • Footwear: Comfortable walking shoes or sports shoes for sightseeing, spice gardens, and national parks.
  • Essentials: Mosquito repellent, sunscreen, sunglasses, personal medicines, and an umbrella/raincoat.

4. Cultural Ethics & Local Rules

  • Dress Code: Dress modestly when visiting religious sites such as the Jewish Synagogue or temples in Fort Kochi.
  • Plastic-Free State: Kerala strictly enforces eco-tourism policies. Avoid littering, especially in protected wildlife sanctuaries and national park areas.

5. ID Proof & Documentation

  • Every guest (including children) must carry a valid original Government Photo ID (Aadhaar Card, Passport, or Driving License) for hotel check-ins and park entries. (PAN Card is usually not accepted by hotels).
